Privacy Policy for Pood Jod
Effective Date: May 31, 2026
Pood Jod (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have when using Pood Jod.
Pood Jod is designed as a local-first personal expense tracker. In the current production version, confirmed expense records are stored on your device. The backend is used only for app security, quota enforcement, and converting text or short voice recordings into structured expense suggestions.
Information We Collect
Account information
Pood Jod does not currently require you to create an account or sign in. We do not currently collect account names, email addresses, passwords, or authentication provider information through the app.
User-generated content stored on your device
The app stores information you create or save locally on your device, including expense records, item names, amounts, dates, currencies, categories, payment methods, settings, receipt images, and temporary audio recording drafts. This local data is used to show your saved expenses, dashboard, categories, and app preferences.
Information sent for extraction
When you choose to process a voice recording or text note, the app sends the submitted audio or text, selected language, and current category list to our protected backend so it can generate expense suggestions. The backend may process this content using Google/Firebase services. The generated transcript and suggested expense fields are returned to your device for review before you save anything.
Submitted audio or text may include personal or financial information if you choose to include it in your note. Please avoid submitting sensitive information that is not needed for expense extraction.
We do not intentionally store your raw audio, transcripts, submitted text, receipt images, or extracted expense payloads on our backend for the current production version.
Installation and quota information
The app creates a random installation identifier on your device. Our backend uses a hashed version of this identifier to enforce free extraction limits. Our backend stores limited quota records, such as successful extraction timestamps, update times, and plan or limit status. These quota records do not contain your expense details, audio, receipts, or transcripts.
Device, diagnostics, and operational information
Our backend and service providers may process technical and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the reliability of the app, such as request metadata, status information, timing information, upload characteristics, security verification results, and error logs. These logs are used for reliability, security, abuse prevention, and debugging. We do not currently use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, or a similar in-app analytics/crash-reporting SDK in the production app.
Permissions and optional data
- Microphone: used when you record short voice notes for expense extraction. Recordings are saved locally first and are sent to the backend only when you submit them for processing.
- Camera and photo library: used when you attach receipt images to saved expenses. Receipt images are stored locally on your device in the current production version.
- Local storage: used for the app database, settings, audio drafts, receipt files, and the random installation identifier.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the app
- Store and display your local expense records, settings, categories, and attachments
- Process submitted audio or text into expense suggestions
- Enforce free extraction limits and protect the backend from abuse
- Maintain reliability, security, and performance
- Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues
- Respond to support, privacy, or data deletion requests
Third-Party Services
Pood Jod uses trusted service providers to operate and secure the app, including:
- Google/Firebase services for backend hosting, app security, quota enforcement, operational logging, and AI-assisted text or audio processing.
- Apple services for app distribution, platform security, and device-level app functionality.
- Website hosting providers for hosting this Privacy Policy.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and data processing terms.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your local expense records, receipt images, audio drafts, or transcripts with advertisers.
We may share limited information only when necessary to:
- Operate the app through trusted service providers listed above
- Comply with legal obligations
- Enforce our terms or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the app, or others
Tracking and Advertising
The current production version of Pood Jod does not use advertising SDKs, does not request the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising or attribution.
Data Retention
Expense records, receipt images, audio drafts, categories, payment methods, currencies, and settings are stored locally on your device until you edit or delete them, reset app data, uninstall the app, or your device removes them. Audio drafts are temporary local artifacts and may be deleted by the app according to your retention settings.
Backend quota records are retained only as needed to enforce extraction limits and operate the service. Operational logs are retained by our hosting and cloud providers according to their configured retention policies.
Data Deletion Requests
Because the current production version does not use accounts or cloud backup for your saved expenses, most app data can be deleted directly on your device by deleting records in the app, resetting app data, or uninstalling Pood Jod.
You may request deletion of personal data or backend quota information associated with your installation by contacting us at:
Please include enough information for us to understand and process your request. We may need to retain limited information when required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
Children’s Privacy
Pood Jod is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including app integrity checks, protected backend access, and server-side access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, depending on where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such processing.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
